Uh oh. The apple dumpling gang is at it again.
The pie bandits are hitting Catoctin Mountain Orchard for the mother lode of baked bounty.
The suspects have zeroed in on the farm’s tiny bakery, where they use Cortland, Empire, and other orchard-picked apples to create pies like apple crumb, apple walnut, and the double-crusted original. There’s even a sugar-free version.
Put it over the wire: dumplings are the crown jewel with two peeled, cored cinnamon-laced beauties baked into a golden pastry crust and bursting with flavor.
Accomplices can take home uncooked pies and dumplings to bake on a cold winter’s day or use to save the day when dessert falls flat.
Best of all, they cost just a fraction of most other pies.
In other words, they’re a steal.
