Okay, children, all together now: “Rain, rain, go away.” Not so fast, Soggy Bottom. Sometimes a downpour is the bearer of good things. Like canceled classes, make-you-weak-in-the-knees kisses, and an awesome night’s sleep. Not to mention cheap beer at the Toledo Lounge. On rainy Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the bar slashes the price of draft beers to $2, bringing inspired new meaning to “when it rains, it pours.” You can ride out the weather any way you choose: slightly tipsy, lightly buzzed, or completely blotto. The great jukebox and friendly staff make for calm in any storm. Just don’t try to pull anything over on the bartenders: It must actually be raining outside the bar. No funny it’s-raining-in-Wheaton business. And if you’re thinking of nursing your soda until the skies open up, well, that’s just sad. After all, you can come again another day. Toledo Lounge, 2435 18th Street NW, between Columbia and Kalorama Roads (202-986-5416).
