Digging into a box of crackers while walking the supermarket aisles is hardly a new idea. But sitting down to dinner right there in the store?
You can do it now at Seasonal Pantry. The new gourmet food shop on 9th Street is stocked with homemade, ready-to-go dishes and serves three- and twelve-course dinners every Thursday through Saturday.
Sit among the refrigerator cases and metal shelves of condiments at a communal table for ten (go solo or take up to five friends). Chef Daniel O’Brien turns grocery lists into spiced watercress soup, slow-roasted salmon, or salted caramel pot de creme.
If you can’t snag a seat, stop in to fill your shopping cart with house specialties like chicken liver mousse and cardamom ice cream, sausages, Creminelli salami, barbecue sauces, pickled cherries, cheese, and pantry items (pasta, lemon confit, jarred sauces).
