Just because your hair’s straight and limp doesn’t mean you can’t go big.
Break with the past and get an updated permanent at Agnes Miggins’s sleek salon, Rules.
The experienced stylist begins with a consult and clarifying shampoo. Then clean hair is tucked into sponge rollers, treated with a formaldehyde-free curling solution, and set to the desired tightness of curl. (Loose waves are hot right now, but if you’re looking for Hollywood glam or structured corkscrews, Miggins can make it happen.) Afterward, hair is drenched with protein-rich keratin to protect cuticles and ensure enduring curls.
With proper care (i.e., no overshampooing or sodium chloride products), your new look could last as long as six months.
That has a nice ring to it.
Available at Rules, 3230 Northeast 45th Street (206-527-8537 or mysalonrules.net), $150 and up.
