Wearable Art and the Body: Workshop
What: Hot local designer Michael Cepress leads an immersion class ($180) in observing the human form, drawing inspiration from a figure model, and understanding the history of body adornment.
Why: Combining ideas of fashion, art, theatrical costumes, traditional ethnic clothing, and body decoration, the two-day session promises to inspire designs of your own.

Think Twice: New Latin American Jewelry
What: The culture holds a strong history of jewelry making and meaning, from traditional spiritual totems to flashy ornaments worn by members of Mexican drug gangs.
Why: Bellevue is the only northwest stop for the exhibit (fresh from NYC’s Museum of Arts and Design) showcasing 130 strange and captivating pieces by more than 90 artists from 25 countries.
