Things the Brits have on us: charm, royalty, rock gods.
Named after the legendary London music venue, The Brixton, opening today, celebrates that last one, combining rock-and-roll chic (think classic posters) with comfort fare.
Cozy up in the lounge (complete with working fireplace) or sit at the marble bar to soak in the black-and-white flocked wallpaper, cracked-paint ceiling, and black crystal chandelier. For an opening act, try the Citron John Daly (an Arnold Palmer plus citrus vodka).
The menu takes center stage, with starters like pretzel twists with Fresno chile and cheddar, entree-size salads, and mains like braised lamb sugo with picholine olives and black pepper-rosemary pappardelle.
The encore, Humphrey Slocombe’s maple-bourbon ice cream with gingersnap cookie crumbles, created exclusively for the restaurant, hits a high note.
