Whether trekking to Target for Zac Posen or scouring online flash sales till dawn, you’ll do whatever it takes for a piece of brilliance that won’t blow your rent.
So take traveling to NYC off your list with A.OK, a diffusion line from painstakingly curated Manhattan destination boutique Oak. As an antidote to its pricier pieces (think Alexander Wang, Dunlin), the masterminds have created a small-but-perfect set of mostly unisex basics for less than $100 each.
Get the collection at The Seventh Heart on Thursday, where A.OK debuts its first pop-up shop. We’ll be ditching humdrum white shirts for the tuxedo tee (cut longer in the back for an easy draping effect), or shimmying into stretchy indigo skinny jeans with a totally wearable midrise cut.
Slim plaid shirts, handkerchief-hemmed tees, and striped Henley tanks can all be layered for an “I didn’t even try, but I look perfectly put together” vibe. And that’s just brilliant.
Available online at oaknyc.com. The A.OK pop-up begins this Thursday (release party, 7-10 p.m.) at The Seventh Heart, 1592 Market Street, between Franklin and Van Ness Streets (415-431-1755 or theseventhheart.com), $42-$98.
