Heart-Rate Levels (According to Heart, opening in the Mission on Wednesday) Resting: This wine bar slash restaurant slash rotating gallery is housed in a long, narrow former mechanic’s garage (and, ahem, brothel back in the day). The space melds warmth (reclaimed wood, fir walls, wine bottles galore) with industrial elements (cement floors, raised communal tables). Cardio Zone: The mostly European wine list has just under 100 selections available by the glass, bottle, and for retail sale. There’s also a killer selection of Spanish sherry and craft beer. Palpitations: A small plates menu of updates on down-home American faves was developed by the Kitchenette dudes. Try chicken pot pie, cider-braised Marin Sun Farms goat shank, and pork shoulder steak with a play on ranch dressing; or keep it simple with local charcuterie and cheeses. Ka-gung.
