When communities fracture, the results can be devastating. (Our condolences, Dan Harmon.)
So we’re tipping our hat to Oakland’s Atomic Garden, a boutique apothecary that champions local culture and is celebrating its five-year anniversary with an e-commerce launch.
Owned by Jamie Kidson and Adrienne Armstrong (wife of Green Day’s Billie Joe), the shop stocks ecologically sound body care and home, kitchen, and craft wares that are now available without a trip across the Bay.
Get snippy with Parveen scissors, showing off ornate handles from an Indian family who has been making shears for generations. Detox with Cloud of Protection essential oils, which fight airborne bacteria and viruses, as well as calm nerves. We love the artisan oval cutting board, crafted in Vermont from North American maple.
They’ll be adding more over the next two months, so don’t be a stranger.
It’s the neighborly thing to do.
