We lived through 2011, and all we got was this postholiday cold.
Some warm and fuzzies are definitely in order, in the form of Van Kim Le’s knit jewelry collection, Love + Keep.
Banish any visions of crocheted quilts: Le, a former textile designer and self-taught knitter, replaces yarn with gunmetal, copper, and silver chains to create textural necklaces with a chic bend. Find fashion influences in the line’s color-blocked metals, fringe bibs, and menswear-inspired tie pendants. Each piece has unique elements, from mixed-metal swatches to extra-long chains that double as bracelets.
In the coming months, the creative force plans to churn out earrings, garment-size items, even installation art.
What can we say? She’s a knitwit.
Available at Mira Mira, 3292 22nd Street, at Valencia Street (415-648-6513 or miramirasf.com); online at loveandkeep.com, $60-$150.
