You know arguing with a 3-year-old about her wardrobe selection is a waste of your time.
And yet, you still find yourself insisting pajamas and a tutu are unacceptable attire for Thanksgiving dinner. (Yes, you have become your mother.)
When the occasion calls for something you’ll both adore, try J’dorable, local designer Myriah Zaytoun’s line of fancy togs for little girls.
Zaytoun cuts no corners: Her dresses, coats, and separates are made using luscious, textured fabrics, specialized design techniques, and the kind of fancy-pants craftsmanship that’s normally reserved for high-end women’s wear. (The layered ruffles of the subtly sparkly Ashlynn coat require 21 pattern pieces.)
Each feminine silhouette, from the scallop-hemmed Sarafina to the full-skirted Madison flower girl dress, is a meticulously made heirloom-to-be. Perfection doesn’t come cheap, but your little fashion bug will be able to pass it on to the next generation.
And so the cycle continues.
Available at the Academy of Art University’s Atelier, 79 New Montgomery Street, between Jessie and Mission Streets (415-618-3859 or my.academyart.edu); online at jdorable.com, $65-$360.
