Yes, breast milk is a marvel of nature. But now that your nursling has moved onward and upward, you’re looking to give the ladies an equally satisfying lift.
For Good Measure
Staffers at Nordstrom (Stonestown Galleria, 285 Winston Drive; 415-753-1344) go through bra-fitting boot camp and come out wielding their tape measures with old-school aplomb. One will usher you into a spacious dressing room, determine your size (prepare to be surprised), and then return with an array of bras from T-shirt to push-up.
Small but Mighty
The selection at Beverly Weinkauf’s tiny Pac Heights boutique, Toujours Lingerie (2484 Sacramento Street; 415-346-3988), is surprisingly extensive. With 30 years of experience, she’ll size you up with a mere glance and help adjust (and assess) the fit of every bra. Her advice for busy moms: Hand-wash fine lingerie in the shower. Gently scrub the fabric with your shampoo, then allow it to drip dry.
Head to Hayes Valley for a little va-va-voom at Alla Prima Fine Lingerie (539 Hayes Street; 415-864-8180). The merch is decidedly high end (La Perla, Eres), but well worth the splurge. Proprietors Magie Crystal and Yolaida Duran will record your size for future visits. (Hint: This is the spot to send your partner for a lacy gift.)
After all, weaning has its perks.
