Magicians get a bad rap. They’re either shady charlatans who may steal your wallet or just unemployable weirdos.
But Joe Grasso, owner of the recently opened Grasso’s Magic Theatre, knows this isn’t true. He bought the space after his son went to magician school (it was originally a garage with a cheese refrigerator in back) and created a dark red space with a proper sound system and stage.
He hosts different acts on Friday or Saturday night and is planning to add a family-friendly Sunday matinee. So far, Grasso says, the only problem is getting butts in seats. But take it from us: This is worth seeing.
Don’t ask questions. Don’t deliberate. Take Mom this Saturday for an early Mother’s Day or go on your own and support these jazzy performers who just want to share their tricks with you.
And clear their names once and for all.
