Why: Tenille Grider weaves in feather hair extensions ($10-$25), and Alice Tran paints mini masterpieces onto nails ($5 and up).

Philly Beer Week
What: Oodles of opportunities to sip (or get sloshed); opt for experimental cocktails with shrubs and bitters at The Farmers’ Cabinet or a chocolate bacon beer float at The Continental.
Why: Follow the Hammer of Glory, the festival’s symbol, as it winds through the streets on pogo sticks, wheelbarrows, and other unconventional modes of transport.
