Oh, Bee-have

Apiary Restaurant Opens

get ready to grub!

If you, like us, avoid Third Avenue’s post-collegiate safe zone (frat boys on the sidewalk! Please watch your step), then you, like us, will be relieved to hear about a sophisticated eatery opening tomorrow.

Apiary bills itself as seasonal new American, its tight menu brandishing heirloom tomato crostini, roasted peaches with serrano ham, soft shell crab with summer slaw, and pork tenderloin with mustard-fig glaze. It’s chef Neil Manacle’s first solo endeavor; he’s been working alongside Bobby Flay for the last decade and a half.

Ligne Roset furnished the space with soft, colorful chairs (red, purple, rose) in felt-like materials and ever-popular chandelier silhouettes-on-hanging-lamps. The small bar serves wines, microbrews, and champagne cocktails to go with red snapper crudo or goat cheese cake with lavender honey.

Anyway, that’s the buzz.

Apiary, 60 Third Avenue, between 10th and 11th Streets (212-254-0888).
