Who wouldn’t need a nip here and a tuck there after working tirelessly for five years straight?
But when the owners of the SoHo Grand hit the whopping age of—oh! five—they didn’t call a plastic surgeon; they called an architect and an interior decorator.
They called original designer William Sofield back in for a major revamping, and the newest incarnation of the space—called the Grand Bar & Lounge—is certainly much more “now” than “then”: think plush velvets, woven zebra-print chenille, camel mohair, and geometric lamps made of bronze Plexiglas everywhere.
And since eating is very “now” (says we), the menu has gotten a makeover, too—with the addition of what looks like some slamming bar food: chicken croquettes, mini crab cakes, and three-cheese fonduta, duck quesadillas…
“Oh, and another martini, straight up, no olives please. I’m on a diet…”
