To Your Haelth

Maybe it was the daffodils.
(You know how we like flowers.)

Or maybe it was the clean smell of maple floors and that smiling staff.
(You know how we get about teeth and hygiene.)

Or maybe it was that sprawling space and the delight of finding a yet-to-be-discovered joint.
(We love finding those.)

Or maybe, just maybe, it was the killer massage.
(We can never get enough of those.)

In all seriousness, we walked into Haelth—the new 7,500-square-foot center for complementary medicine—a bit skeptical. Billed to address the mind and body, Haelth’s menu includes exercise, massage, yoga, Chinese medicine, and support groups. Founded by Dr. William Fair, a renowned surgeon diagnosed with terminal cancer who set about finding alternative methods of treatment and developed his own set of guidelines. Then—along with a team of registered nurses, massage therapists, dietitians, acupuncturists, and yoga teachers—he set up shop.

And what a shop it is! The gym is slick! The yoga rocks. And can we have another massage, please? You can also do research in the library. Haelth also offers management for chronic conditions such as cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, and practitioners work with your physician to complement medical care.

So, whatever condition ails, we say…go!
