When we heard about Pure Flow, a new duo of wellness centers that performs circulation-boosting pulsation treatments, we immediately thought, Enya.
Wrong. The experience is how life as an Usher song feels. (It beats with your heart, invigorates the senses, and vaguely reminds us of getting humped.)
During each session, you’re hooked to a cardio monitor and strapped to a padded table with compression bands around your calves, thighs, and waist (be sure to wear yoga pants). Once rhythm is checked, 45 minutes of pulse-synchronized pumping begins.
Don’t be fooled by the mood lighting and moniker: These serious (and loud) machines are designed for cardiac patients. People with healthy tickers can expect a flood of oxygen to their tissue (helps with bloating and detox) and brain (boosted energy and runner’s high without the sweat).
We left glowing and wanting more.
Safe to say, we’ve got it bad.
