When it comes to music, the hook should be easy enough to draw you in but catchy enough to keep you coming back (we’re looking at you, Carly Rae).
Strike a chord with WXYZ Jewelry, a new line from Brooklyn designer Laura Wass.
Like most rock stars, Wass earned her chops as backup (she designed for Philip Crangi, Giles & Brother, and industrial scale manufacturer Metal Dynamics) before going solo. She now creates each piece by hand with humor in the details.
Wass stacks tri-beads (the ones you strung onto pipe cleaners as a child) cast in gunmetal, silver, and gold on chains and bracelets; woven DNA bands appear as complex as the real deal (pair one with black rubber and gold tube bangles). We especially dig her twist on a diamond ring: a silver, gemless profile lined with chartreuse resin.
It’s a chart topper.
