Caitlin Mociun is always on the go.
During the past year, the jewelry designer has peddled wares at two gangbusters pop-ups, expanded her collection, and begun work on an affordable Urban Outfitters collab. (We’re exhausted just typing about it.)
Her next step: a debut retail shop, opening tomorrow in Williamsburg.
For those familiar with the bright, splashy patterns from her early ready-to-wear days, the shop may feel a little bare-bones. We encourage you to look a little closer.
The gallery-like space’s modular displays (co-designed with Brooklyn duo Fort Standard) are brimming with Mociun’s trademark geometric gems and unusual baubles by David Neale and Andy Lifschutz (the latter created custom glitzy crystal rings for the opening).
Quirky home accessories and objets d’art — funky ceramics by Shino Takeda and Eric Bonnin, strangely chic switchblades from Santa Fe Stoneworks — also hold functional appeal.
Mociun, 224 Wythe Avenue, at North 4th Street, Williamsburg (718-387-3731 or mociun.com).
