Yeah, times are tough. We’re all broke. Going to be laid off any day now. Yada, yada, yada.
The upside to the downturn: the comeback of BYO wine. So let’s raise our glasses to the Miami restaurants where store-bought bottles are welcome.
Who: Barbu
What: Infamous for their Design District restaurant A that allowed entire coolers of booze, whimsical duo Marc and Blue Solomon opened Barbu a few months back with an organic tapas menu and an easy-to-swallow $5 corkage fee.
Where: 1935 West Ave., ste. 102, South Beach (305-532-3818).
Who: Lifefood Gourmet
What: Bag a bottle of organic wine and head over to Miami’s favorite raw food restaurant where there’s never a corkage fee. Added bonus: Try one of Schott’s ridiculous nondairy macaroons.
Where: 1248 SW 22nd St., Miami (305-856-6767).
Who: W Wine Bistro
What: Get lucky on hump day at the cozy neighborhood bar/wine shop. Choose from the extensive collection, and on Wine-Not Wednesdays the bar’ll waive the $15 corkage fee.
