If one more six-inch heel and spandex-sporting weekender asks you where to get her club on, you may lose it.
Mosey over to The Well Lounge, opening Friday. The vibe there falls somewhere between pretentious hotel lobby and dive bar. Hospitality veterans Buzzy Sklar (original owner of Burger & Beer Joint and Automatic Slims) and Shareef Malnik (The Forge) transformed the 4,000-square-foot Mid-Beach space into a comfortable hangout with plenty of seating, open-format music (DJs on the weekends), and an inviting chalet atmosphere.
Divided into three rooms, the ski lodge look-alike rewards locals with a no-line, no-bottle service policy. We suggest camping out near the fireplace or beneath the purple antler chandelier for a few generous pints or martinis and bites like panini and cheese boards.
At least until the herd of tacky tourists loses sight of you.
