For four local artists, a worldwide face-to-face disconnect led to the creation of a grass roots art production called Front Yard Theatre Collective. Every last Thursday of the month, the group hosts a free show on the front lawn of members Pati Laylle and Gregg Rivero’s Wynwood home.
Each performance is divided into three sections: SNL-like original skit (past get-togethers have featured The Muppets doing Pulp Fiction), improv with audience participation, and open mic, when musicians and dancers are invited to the stage. Seating, booze, and food are allowed — just remember to pack your own.
And although you won’t need to pay admission, we suggest throwing some cash in the tip jar or donating any of the items (props, curtains, costumes) specified on the group’s Facebook page.
Consider it a special friend request.
