Super cheesy is how you like your enchiladas — not your Saturday nights. Hence your aversion to Hollywood’s club circuit.
Now there’s good reason to venture into the 90028 after dark. Paul & Andre, the new bar from Paul Sevigny and Parisian club king André Saraiva, is everything the neighboring watering holes aren’t: unassuming and exclusive with nary a Kardashian clone in sight. In short, cool.
Located at the end of an alley, past a doorman, up two flights of stairs, down a hallway, and through a kitchen, the place feels like a speakeasy. Bartenders mix cocktails like orange-honey mules and falernum daiquiris, and smoking is permitted (nay, encouraged) in an open-air back room lined with cherry red velvet banquettes. A DJ spins garage and soul beneath the world’s smallest disco ball.
But alas, the six-month pop-up is not long for this world.
So get it while it’s hot … and open.
