The only thing proven to cut down wait time for a table at Dan Tana: having a name like New York Steak Dabney Coleman, Potatoes Beckerman, or Craig Susser — the always-tuxedoed maitre d’ who was there for 23 years.
You can drop the Shrimp à la Jerry Buss act. Susser has a table for you at his new place, Craig’s, opening tonight on Melrose.
Slide into a curved teal booth and order the signature filet over blue cheese-stuffed ravioli, ricotta cavatelli with vodka sauce (secret ingredient: prosciutto), or a wood oven-fired pizza. Lighter options (seared ahi with mango salsa, chicken with jalapeno jus) are just as satisfying, but be sure to leave room for white-and-dark-chocolate bread pudding.
In the mood for something off menu? Just ask. Craig’s aims to please.
Or our name isn’t Bananas Foster.
Craig’s, 8826 Melrose Avenue, at North La Peer Drive, West Hollywood (310-276-1900 or craigs.la).
