The writing is on the wall. In Sharpie. And it ain’t pretty.
Cover it up with something that is, like a custom wallpaper mural from Black Crow Studios. Founder Tracy Hiner — a veteran textile designer for Jeremy Scott and design assistant at Louis Verdad — happily conceives individualized wall art to suit.
First, she’ll visit your pad to digest color scheme, personal style, and space. She’ll synergize whatever ideas, constraints, and/or existing pictures into an image. It’s often one supersize graphic, rather than the more typical repeated patterns. After your final approval, she’ll use water-based ink to print onto self-adhesive paper (think huge sticker made of polyester and paper pulp that gets slapped on in a single piece).
One-of-a-kind isn’t the only way to go. Hiner also collaborates with friends like liquid acrylic artist Karla Davison and viewfinder photographer Alysia Cotter on a collection of ready-made wallpapers. If you need things spelled out for you.
Available online at blackcrowstudios.com, $10-$15 per square foot. For special orders, call 310-266-7819.
