It takes a whole lot to freeze us in our tracks.
But we’ve really melted for Névé Ice, hand-cut cubes made for improved imbibing.
Started by local barman Michel Dozios (did you spot him at Seven Grand, Comme Ça, or Church & State?), the size, shape, unique H2O formulation, and top-secret freezing temps add up to chillers that keep cocktails cold without watering them down.
Ready for pickup in mixed ten-pound bags, the assortment includes a tall Collins cube for highballs; hunky two-inch Rocks for old-fashioneds; and faceted, corner-free Shaking Cubes that maximize aeration during mixing.
Spheres are available only by special order, but all shapes can be customized with colors, flowers, fruit, herbs, or fragrances (Dozios swears by a specially made vanilla bean Rock in his scotch).
It’s something you could really warm up to.
Available at Bar Keeper, 3910 West Sunset Boulevard, between Lucile and Hyperion Avenues, Silver Lake (323-669-1675); K & L Wine Merchants, 1400 Vine Street between Sunset Boulevard and De Longpre Avenue, Hollywood (323-464-9463); Wally’s Wine & Spirits, 2107 Westwood Boulevard, between Mississippi Avenue and West Olympic Boulevard, Westwood (310-475-0606).
