Venice’s turn for the commercial has longtime residents Hannah Henderson and John Moore all hot and bothered.
To fight chain-store fire with indie flame, they teamed up with Mason St. Peter and Serena Mitnik-Miller, co-owners of artisan-focused San Francisco boutique General Store, to open an L.A. outpost.
Now (after much waiting with baited breath) the shop has officially opened its doors. The west side represents with local finds like Annie Costello Brown jewelry, Lookout & Wonderland indigo scarves, and Commune linen blankets along with NorCal treasures including Emmy’s Pickles and Stitch & Hammer leather goods. NYC gets some love, courtesy of Doug Johnston woven baskets and Fredericks & Mae giant worry beads.
For a blast from the past, turn to racks of vintage clothing curated for kids and adults alike.
Mallrats, though, are out of luck.
