Sunscreen? Check. Beach chair? Check. Alaia? Shoot.
If you forgot your après-sun finery at home, pop into Convenience Store, Satine’s new little sister on Abbott Kinney.
Find owner Jeannie Lee’s mix of low- and high-end (Nina Ricci, Erdem, Carven) designer collections along with swim essentials, like We Are Handsome bathing suits, Maslin beach towels, and Super sunnies.
In Dogtown spirit, Lee commissioned a local graffiti artist to paint the boutique’s bunny logo and blue facade. Inside, it’s seaside France with a shot of Tokyo street style. Dark woods and wicker furniture evoke Bordeaux’s coastal charm with retro touches like a record player and cigarette machine. Goods sourced from Japanese convenience stores (green tea Kit Kats, DIY crochet iPhone covers) round out the kawaii wares.
Take lunch from neighboring GTA, peruse Japanese fashion mags, sip wine, and sunbathe in the mini greenhouse and garden out back.
You may never reach the sand.
