Which takes longer to pluck?
a. Your eyebrows
b. A chicken
If your answer isn’t the bird, make a date with Kelley Baker ASAP.
The premier shape-shifter sharpened her tweezers at Damone Roberts and Mathis Murphy before opening her Abbot Kinney studio, a pocket-size space with all the trappings of a posh powder room (Murano chandeliers, velvet chairs, and gold-plated mirrors).
Though her wax-tweeze-trim regime guarantees no stray hair is left behind, Baker’s approach is subtle and feature flattering (read: no pencil-thin peaks). We actually walked away with healthier, fuller-looking brows (not quite Brooke Shields circa 1984, but still).
Go for lash tints and makeup application, too — she works magic with a mascara wand. And the salon’s new product line, which includes brow gel, liner, and highlighter, allows you to go longer between treatments.
Now that’s arch support.
