This week’s forecast? Chocolate rain.
Expect a heavy downpour of truffles, bonbons, and bars when Vosges Haut-Chocolat, Chicago confectioner Katrina Markoff’s exotic sweets company, blows into Beverly Hills on Friday.
The Moroccan-themed chocolateria comprises three sections: a cafe for indulging in fresh pastries (pain au chocolat, chocolate chip cookies with nutmeg oat hemp milk), chocolate bar flights, and culty Blue Bottle brew; a marketplace selling an assortment of Markoff’s greatest hits (chocolate-bacon bars, caramel marshmallows) along with new truffle flavors (Armenian apricot, saffron, sweet curry) inspired by her recent world spice market tour; and a lab (think Marrakech meets Willy Wonka) where you can watch pastry chef Hayley Evans and her chocolatiers at work.
In other words, the perfect storm.
