You swore you’d never let your kids zone out in front of the television. But truth be told, today’s blow-dry was brought to you by Nick Jr.
Time to unplug and head over to Santa Monica’s new Books and Cookies, where reading is the main attraction.
Owner, author, and former teacher Chudney Ross has created an environment where cuddling up with a book is a communal experience. A modern enrichment center, it’s divided into an interactive reading room/bookstore, healthy kids’ cafe serving fresh-baked treats (cookies, muffins, granola), and an activity space for classes, workshops, and private parties.
Stocked with classics and contemporary reads, the cozy nooks (think beanbags and tepees) will have tots and parents alike excited to plop down and get their word on.
And that’s something you never have to turn off.
Books and Cookies, 2230 Main Street, at Strand Street, Santa Monica (310-362-3103 or booksandcookiesla.com).
Here’s the Deal, Mom: Starting Wednesday, DailyCandy Kids Deals will be sending you discounts on products and services for you and your kiddos. That’s more from DailyCandy Kids — for less.
