New Couple Alert: Leather and Shorts
Recently, we’ve spotted these two canoodling all over town, from Rodeo Drive to Third Street boutiques.
One comely specimen, Glam, by fledgling L.A. label Q40, has really been making headlines. With its subtly distressed wash and curve-hugging silhouette, it marries last season’s rock ’n’ roll luxe with spring lightness. The details (pleated front, welt pockets, rolled cuffs) are a turn-on, and the inseam, at just two and a half inches, makes it the perfect sandals-to-stilettos transition piece.
Creative director Evelyn Ober made a racy debut with last season’s collection of hand-sewn moto jackets and will roll out leather trousers and skirts this fall. In the meantime, we love the Christa, a gray suede version of Glam.
Isn’t it about time you joined the mile-thigh club?
Available at Hillary Rush, 8222 West Third Street, between South Harper and South La Jolla Avenues (323-852-0088 or hillaryrush.com); online at q40clothing.com, $140-$188.
