Sunday night blues?
Turn them red at Tango at 33, the new dance class-cum-party launching this Sunday, 6:30-8 p.m.
Naomi West and her team of dancers will teach three levels of the sensual Argentine dance in a candlelit, converted Georgian townhouse in Central London. They’ll go over basic posture, the close embrace and how to lead and follow with beginners; intermediates and improvers will learn more complicated steps.
After class, put your new skills to use at the milonga, where you can dance, socialize, snack and drink wine until midnight. Wear comfortable clothes but make sure your shoes have a small heel and a leather sole so you can swivel on the wood floor.
There’s no need to take a partner, but with all the embracing, we suggest you find a strapping lad to accompany you.
Tango at 33, at No5 Cavendish Square, 5 Cavendish Square, W1G OPG (07969 001659 or tangoat33.com), £12 per class.
