Soaring house prices, skyrocketing food costs, rising fuel rates. Wouldn’t life be a whole lot easier if you could just go Dutch?
Start with your clothes, and the rest might follow.
New label Avelon hails from the Netherlands and has an ethos of poor luxury, so you can score top-notch threads without shelling out top dollar.
Owner and designer Erik Frenken, a Central Saint Martins graduate and Viktor & Rolf alum, focuses on trans-seasonal classics that are a little rough around the edges. The all-purpose white shirt receives an urban twist with a single batwing sleeve, and slouchy knits are trimmed with leather.
Even skinny jeans are updated with colour-blocked trouser legs — in case you’re struggling with a split decision.
