There are plenty of fish in the sea.
But none of them as tasty as you’ll find at GT Fish & Oyster, softly opening tomorrow in River North. The modern, chef-driven seafood spot is the brainchild of the Boka Restaurant Group (Boka, Girl & the Goat, Perennial).
Partner and chef Giuseppe Tentori’s menu neatly melds traditional and contemporary flavors, like grilled Caesar salad with oyster croutons, shrimp bruschetta with toasted pistachio and grapefruit, and silky halibut with yuzu whipped potatoes. But it also sticks to the classics: clam chowder, lobster roll, crab cakes. Six oyster varieties are shucked at the gleaming gold and black bar.
The space itself is breathtaking: ivory paneling, giant windows open to the street, paintings of fisherman on stormy seas, genius chandeliers constructed from black fishing rope and glass fishing floats.
Lunch service starts in a few weeks. You’ll be hooked.
