We live in the West, but we harbor Wild West fantasies (if only to be able to say things like “Howdy, pardner” and settle work disputes with a quick draw).
Well, at least we can pack heat (sans violence) with a revolver necklace from new local jewelry line Found Made New.
Designer Patricia Hom has actually separated her line into two series: One incorporates simple vintage charms (birds, scissors, nautical elements), but the Spent necklaces have pendants made from melted bullet casings. It’s no wonder that they’re in the shapes of grenades, claws, and, yes, guns.
We love that, from afar, Hom’s tiny skull pendant could be mistaken for something girly and that, since no two pieces come out exactly the same, we can get one for ourselves and one for a friend. Leaving no cause for a showdown.
Available at The Perish Trust, 728 Divisadero Street, between Fulton and Grove Streets (theperishtrust.com); Park Life, 220 Clement Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues (415-386-7275 or parklifestore.com). For more information, go to foundmadenew.com.
