Most midnight delivery services can hardly be described as sweet. (Use your imagination; we’re not going into detail.)

But you’ll want Midnite Cookies, which just opened in Covent Garden, to come knocking late at night. Flavours like triple chocolate chunk, peanut butter chip, coconut cream and caramel pecan, as well as fresh fudge brownies, fruit and organic yoghurt, can be ordered online (minimum of £6) for delivery to any address in London’s Zone 1 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Ice creams, milk shakes and cappuccinos are also available at the groovy new shop-cum-cafe, where everything is made by hand. It’s open daily until 11 p.m., making it ideal for postdinner, theatre or office munchies.

Our choice of midnight snack? Cookie dough shots: dollops of raw cookie served in little pots — which saves you from having to fish them out of a tub of ice cream. Imagine that.
