Feeling dark and stormy? Self-medicate with Morris Kitchen’s new ginger syrup — handmade, poured, and numbered in Williamsburg by brother and sister Tyler (a former sous chef at Craftbar) and Kari (an artist and cook) Morris. Though the liquid gold’s proportions are top secret (like their invite-only supper club), the duo has concocted a simple tempest-calming cocktail to see you through to spring.
Morris Kitchen Ginger Syrup Cocktail
Makes one drink
1 oz. bourbon
½ oz. Morris Kitchen ginger syrup
Half a juiced lemon
1 tsp. pure maple syrup
1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the bourbon, ginger syrup, lemon juice, and maple syrup.
2. Shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
