Brunch spot: Rosebud
Order: The monstrosity that is the Orange Stillman (vodka, champagne, OJ, and Orange Crush in a 32-ounce jar) is a meal in itself, but I order the turkey and pesto scramble with cheese grits — and the brunch corn dogs to start.

Brunch spot: Lula Cafe or Kingsbury Street Cafe
Order: Lula has the best breakfast burrito in the city. I love it because it’s satisfying, but not too heavy (I order it with egg whites). Avocado, onion, green chile, tomato, potato, and cheddar, plus a cup of strong coffee equals morning happiness. Kingsbury Street Cafe is one of the few spots in Chicago where you can score chia seed pudding. I’m addicted: One bowl of fresh fruit, chia, and almond milk, and nothing stops me.

Brunch spot: Oddfellows
Order: Latte is my middle name, so Oddfellows is my go-to brunch spot for its lip-smacking-good java. I always get the egg salad sandwich and have yet to leave without digging into beignets with honey. From the outdoor coffee bar to the Brooklyn vibe inside, I can’t get enough.

Order: Be it at the dirty deli or a fancy brunch spot, breakfast for me means veggie-filled egg whites. Locanda Verde’s version of my go-to is a zucchini, roasted tomato, goat cheese, and basil frittata. But don’t call me boring. I add on sheep’s milk ricotta with truffle honey and burnt toast for the table.

Order: I’m obsessed with inventive brunch beverages, and Maverick doesn’t disappoint. The mimosas change seasonally— from peppered strawberry to sweet huckleberry. The Bloody Maverick, made with sake, is a mainstay. Order the summer vegetable omelet.

Order: I can skip donuts (almost) anywhere else, but these made-to-order bad boys with clouds of whipped cream are a must. I also adore the house-smoked salmon. Whether topping a salad, on a bagel, or under eggs and hollandaise, it’s an elegant way to start a weekend.
