All work and no play gives Dr. Mortimer a cramped hand in Tanya Wexler’s rom com set during the age of the Virgin Queen. When curing lady patients’ ailments with a little hands-on stimulation becomes too taxing, Dr. Mortimer, played by Hugh Dancy, turns to good vibrations from a handy device. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Felicity Jones round out the cast of the pleasure piece that generated plenty of buzz on the festival circuit.
