A future radio transcript
Announcer: It’s opening day at Radio Africa & Kitchen. Chef Eskender Aseged has laid down roots after eight years of pop-ups. Chef, what’s on the weekly changing menu?
Eskender Aseged: Small plates (edamame and fava bean hummus, saffron prawns) and family-style mains under $20 (roasted leg of lamb with eggplant relish and couscous, butternut squash with Ethiopian stew). As in my native Ethiopia, sharing is always encouraged.
A: North African meets Mediterranean — splendid. Let’s take a caller. Thirsty from Bayview, you’re on the air.
TFB: Love the communal wood tables, Flora Grubb pots, open kitchen, and warm industrial vibe with limy white walls. What’s on tap?
A: Lunch starts April 3, and breakfast is en route. Over and out.
Radio Africa & Kitchen, 4800 Third Street, at Oakdale Avenue (radioafricakitchen.com). Opening party, tonight, 5:30 p.m. To make a reservation (recommended), call 415-420-2486 or email email@example.com.
