Searching for a summer getup is a conundrum fit for a detective.
Hound, a new collection from designer Jen Beeman, masterfully solves the mystery.
Named after her favorite book, The Hound of the Baskervilles, featuring Mr. Sherlock Holmes himself, the fledgling line (Beeman sews every piece in her West Loop apartment) is carefully edited, ideally constructed, and absolutely essential for the heat.
Summers at her childhood Wisconsin cabin, an obsession with astronomy, and camp inspire the airy, bohemian designs: an orange, wide-cut, silk chiffon crop top; a teal, silk crepe de chine blouse with a sheer chiffon shoulder panel; a loose-fitting, color-blocked, black and white shift; body-skimming linen shorts; and a geometric, high-waisted skirt.
The breezy silhouettes are built for beaches, bicycles, and blankets in the park.
It’s an open-and-shut case.
