The idea of an outfit that costs $100 or less usually makes us chuckle.
But after a trip to The Laughing Willow — a new clothing boutique in more-awesome-by-the-minute Bishop Arts — we’re giggling all the way to the bank.
Buyer Kiesha Baker packs the exposed-brick space with affordable, contemporary tops, shorts, skirts, dresses, lingerie, and more, so shoppers can head home with kick-ass ensembles for about a Benjamin. Some labels you may already know (Cosabella, Toms Eyewear, Tulle); others you’ll be happy to meet. One of our favorite introductions is to The Leather Nest, a local jewelry line that crafts cuffs from reclaimed leather, faux fur, and tribal accents.
Overall, the shop has a feminine, boho vibe, with iron gates-turned-clothing racks rife with lacy blouses, breezy dresses, and one-of-a-kind shoulder bags made from repurposed artisan textiles.
Nothing funny about that.
