It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, and that somewhere is DailyCandy HQ. Here’s how we’re taking the edge off this pre-Derby Thursday.
Office Mint Julep
4 sprigs fresh mint (Dean & Deluca in Soho has plenty at the moment.)
1 tsp. superfine sugar
3 oz. bourbon (We’re currently into small-batch Jefferson’s Bourbon; owner Trey Zoeller taught us this recipe.)
1. Muddle 3 mint sprigs and sugar in a silver julep cup or Collins glass. (Use a spoon for crushing. We don’t advise subbing in a paper cup as disguise just yet.)
2. Fill glass with crushed ice and pour in bourbon.
3. Garnish with remaining mint sprig.
4. Transfer to desk and write post about mint juleps.
