Welcome the dessert company of Megan Wilkes and Mary Gauntt, the darling twentysomethings behind the new Dallas pie biz. They craft imaginative and oh-so-beautiful desserts with only seasonal, local ingredients.
Every quarter, they dish four flavors. The current roster reads like an ex-boyfriend lineup: Mr. Macintosh (apple-cranberry with a traditional flaky crust), Smooth Operator (French silk chocolate with a crunchy pretzel crust), Drunken Nut (bourbon-pecan with caramelized brown sugar and a shortbread crust), and Drop Dead Gourd-geous (pumpkin with a gingersnap crust).
If you’re craving something different, they also whip up custom orders.
Sure beats hot cross buns.
Available at The Corner Market, 3426 Greenville Avenue (214-826-8282); to order, call 972-921-9618 or email info@emporiumpies.com, $25-$28.
