The weekend passed, and you did, well, exactly nothing.
Next weekend, turn off Hoarders and get off the couch and into Q de Cheval. The new restaurant is part of Dallas InterContinental’s swanky multimillion-dollar renovation.
Chef Rex Turner (Coal Vines, Villa O, Toulouse, Nick and Sam’s) holds the key to the kitchen, which focuses on modern Texas cuisine with deep French roots.
Translation: Barbecue-glazed duck confit; braised short rib flautas with creamy barbecue sauce; and a croque madame with country toast, smoked ham, Gruyere, Mornay sauce, and a sunny-side up egg are all on the menu. Although you can pull up a seat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (oh, the beauty of being inside a hideaway), we suggest toasting cocktail hour with the Patrón Silver-champagne-Chambord number.
The casually elegant decor (we’re salivating over Brad Oldham’s laser-cut, nature-inspired sculptures) means you can dress in denim or DVF.
But do skip the potato sack.
