No matter how freaked out you were by Black Swan, you can’t resist a little girl in tulle.
Just wait until you see your budding ballerina in class at Baby Take a Bow, Roscoe Village’s new children’s dance studio. Tots as young as 18 months learn basics at the barre, starting with first position. Older, more nimble starlets branch into pliés, jetés, and pirouettes.
Games like Red Light/Green Light and Simon Says break up the twirling. Props and costumes keep things playful: Dancers may wear animal ears and mimic a creature’s movements. There’s even a special “abroad” program in which ballet classes are taught en Français.
Alongside the studio you’ll find a chandelier-lit boutique stocked with slippers, leotards, and tutus — everything she’ll need to take wing.
