A little birdie told us you’re in a restaurant rut.
Before you fly the coop, meet the newest cock on the block: Rewster’s Cafe, Logan Square’s contribution to the French invasion.
The tiny, colorful cafe teems with the friendliness and confidence of a staff who knows they’re churning out solid food. Frenchman Frederic Zahm (The Peninsula’s Pierrot Gourmet) delivers refined dishes with an approachable accent: bread pudding stuffed with turkey, leeks, and potatoes; apple-banana-honey tart; grilled cheese and honey butter on brioche; playful, popcorn-accented beet salad.
Breakfast brings an assortment of fresh pastries (pain au chocolat, ham and cheese croissant, giant pretzels) and locally brewed Dark Matter coffee (aptly named Cock Blocker). Grab a sunny window seat and stay awhile. You just may get a free sample of rich, nutmeg-scented eggnog — if you’re clucky.
