Enough Linsanity already. It’s time for ginsanity.
Scofflaw, Logan Square’s newest watering hole, promises to dismantle your gin stereotypes — and get you tipsy in the process.
It’s tough not to trust a team of this caliber: The Whistler’s Danny Shapiro, Simone’s Kris Nagy, Boiler Room/Bonny’s alums Andy Gould and Mandy Tandy, and Longman & Eagle’s Mickey Neely.
Cocktails sound complex but are accessible even for the novices among us. Saint Charles riffs on the Sazerac (jasmine tea-infused Death’s Door gin, Rothman & Winter apricot liqueur, Peychaud’s bitters, and absinthe rinse); Basil Bramble nods to The Whistler’s famed Rosemary Collins, with Broker’s Gin, lemon, Combier creme de mure, and basil; gin cowards can gingerly sip the Lonesome Hero (Olmeca Altos Reposado tequila, Aperol, guava, lime, and banana ice).
Neely’s bar menu includes pork cheek sandwiches, fallen goat cheese souffle, and salads.
What a baller.
